How to Live longerIf you had born 100 years ago your average life may have been only 50 years. But today you can almost double this figure.

There is a myth that in the past, people lived longer. This is not true, the average life expectancy has increased over time due to: medical breakthroughs, better sanitation, more abundant food and others.

There have been many studies on how to live longer in good health. These are some of the most important recommendations:

Eat well
You know it is expected that for the first time in history the average lifespan will decrease due to obesity. Eating well means getting the necessary calories with high nutritional quality foods such as vegetables, beans (beans), lentils, whole grains and lean meat in moderation.

According to research when you eat fewer calories than you need (less than 1500) lengthens life. But eating healthfully without going to extremes as 1500 calories a day and maintain recommended weight away diseases such as diabetes, heart disease and hypertension prolonging life and improving quality.

Mental harmony
For good quality of life must be in harmony with the body and mind. The emotions affect health.

Exercise
Exercise is very important for good physical condition. As time passes we lose muscle mass and bone density that makes us more prone to fractures and falls. Exercise keeps us strong and flexible, keeps us young.

We must do cardiovascular exercise and muscle. Not necessarily have to go to the gym can play sports like golf or swimming.

Exercise your mind
The mind also needs stimulation. Perform mental activities like reading or studying helps prevent memory deterioration. Learn something new, challenge your mind.

Relax
